

He grew up in southern California. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. His career was in life insurance sales and management. He and his family first lived in Sacramento, CA and then in the Phoenix metropolitan area for the last 50 years. He was an avid U.S. stamp collector, a history buff, a patriot and a faithful member of the LDS Church.
He is survived by Doris D. Stephan, his beloved wife, and three sons, Robert Jr., Gregory and Clarke, and nine grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren. Two of his six siblings, Nettie Ann Huntley and Donald Stephan also survive him.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Islands Ward, 1150 W. Elliot Rd., Gilbert, AZ 85233. Interment will follow at the National Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85024.
