Sandra Jean Rostron was born to George Harrison and Gladys Mack. A blackjack dealer and registered nurse, in Spokane, Washington on August 17, 1947. She was a devout Christian, member of Job’s daughters as a teenager, and lover of Jesus. She was a graduate of Central Union High School in El Centro, California.
Sandra Rostron loved her large family. She married her best friend, and lifeguard at the pool Donald Kent Rostron. Sandra raised 3 children, teaching them to use manners and love each other. She taught them about life and was a great mother and wife. At a young age she started working as a telephone switchboard operator for the local phone service, after marrying Don and moving to San Diego she became a switchboard operator for the US Navy, setting up and transferring phone calls to Navy ships locally and to ports all around the world. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones and friends.
She is survived by her husband Donald Rostron; sisters Carol Rodriguez and Gayle Miller; children Mary Rostron, Cheryl Rostron, and Donald Rostron II; grandchildren Kristina Barrette, Andrew B. Carter, Mariah Villanueva, Michael Chaffin II, Jason Chaffin, Charlotte Rostron, Macy Rostron, Morgan Rostron, and Wyatt Rostron; great grandchildren Andrew R. Carter, Cadence Carter, Isabella Villanueva, and Aubrey Villanueva. She was preceded in death by her adopted true father Wesley Warren Sheppard, Mother Gladys Berdina (Mack) Sheppard; brothers Gary Sheppard and James Sheppard; sister Laurian McCaustland, and granddaughter Andrea Carter.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022, from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm, Maricopa First Baptist Church, 18705 N John Wayne Pkwy, Maricopa, AZ 85139.
