She is an individual who screened her calls, stayed away from drama and confusion, and mastered the art of minding her business. There is something that everyone should know about Shirley and the way she chose to live her life. Let's start with her being a wonderful Mother, not only to her natural children but, to all children that she cared for. Her work ethic and stewardship were impeccable, everything she did was with honor, grace, style, and dedication. Shirley started a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant like her Mother and others in the family. In the 1980’s Shirley began working for St. Vincent De Paul, initially in the warehouse but, quickly became a Manager and later moved up to a Regional Director of the organization’s Thrift Shops. During the 2000’s Shirley began driving buses for the City of Phoenix and the Kyrene School District while becoming a Licensed Foster Parent. Shirley not only took pride in helping others raise their children but, was truly gifted in the balance of showing love and teaching life skills that will stick with generations for a lifetime. Shirley was one of the most creative and stylish individuals that has ever graced this earth, a skilled cook, who frequently contended with Sheila about who could cook the best and who developed the best recipes. If you ever treated yourself to a visit at her home, then you know she had a gift for home décor, like pictures in a Spiegel Magazine (Old School). Shirley enjoyed traveling to tropical islands and going on cruises. During Shirley's last days, she spent time enjoying family, shopping, and building community. She made friends with neighbors and their families had conversations that were filled with laughter and even imparted meaningful advice. Shirley prioritized sharing her knowledge of biblical principles related to ensuring we are all committed to God so we can all get to heaven one day too.
In Gods Care
Psalms 91
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
