Stanley Joseph Kristo, 84, passed away January 25, 2016 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born March 14, 1931 to Louis and Frances [Nastala] Kristo. Stan proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who cherished life and his family. Together with his wife of almost 60 years, Evelyn [Atkinson] Kristo, they enjoyed traveling throughout the country and ended up visiting almost every state. During his retirement from a career in the tire and cotton industries, Stan devoted his time to charitable activities, playing golf, and enjoying his grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved wife, Evelyn Kristo; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Virginia Kristo; his granddaughter Stephanie Kristo; brother George Kristo and his sister Josie Krause. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Nick Kristo, and his granddaughter Jacqueline Kristo. A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00pm, Monday, February 1, 2016 at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 East Broadway Rd in Mesa. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00am, Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 3550 East Knox Rd, Phoenix, AZ. Arrangements entrusted to Mariposa Gardens (480) 830-4422.
