Sylvia was unexpectedly taken from us on Tuesday, July 8, 2014. She was someone who touched our lives in the most extraordinary ways, leaving unmistakable memories within our hearts. A devoted wife, a fierce and exceptional mother of unconditional love, and a lover of fun, laughter, and pranks, Sylvia loved her family, enjoyed a good time and never, ever acted her age! Sylvia saw beauty In God's creation everywhere and brought that beauty to life through her amazing artistic talent and the brilliant creativity she possessed. Her art lives on, full of life and vibrant color, just as the person she was. As we reminisce about our time with her that was cut all too short, we find laughter breaking through the tears. We are totally awestruck by her free spirited nature; the way she loved to dance through the house to her music; the silly things she did and elaborate pranks she pulled; the way she laughed until she cried; and the special relationship she shared with her "little sister" Sher, the laughter they shared. How she loved to laugh.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Sterling Snoddy and Bijou ReCoulley Snoddy and her brother Jack Sterling Snowdy.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Frank Joseph D'Angelo; her children, Frank Michael D'Angelo, wife Coco; Susan Michelle D'Angelo; Marc David D'Angelo, wife Pat; Stephen Michael D'Angelo and Jewel; and Lori D'Angelo and Eric. She's also survived by grandchildren Michael, Anthony, and David D'Angelo; Austin Laing and wife Tara; Christian Laing; Gabriella D'Angelo; and great-grandson Noah. Sylvia also leaves behind two sisters: Cecile Snoddy Lorino and Sher Snoddy Creel; and two nephews, Sterling Snowdy and wife Hope, and David Snowdy and wife Sharon. Additionally she was loved by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews too numerous to count. We have all been enriched for having had her in our lives.
