

Thelma spent her childhood in Hempstead, New York. She moved to Bay Shore, New York where she raised her 4 children from her first marriage to Herman Ford Johnson. (We love you, Dad!)
After her divorce, she met and married Bob Lang. They bought a motor home, retired and moved to Mesa, Arizona in 1974. They traveled Extensively, and had a great time. (Thank you, Bob!!! We Love you!)
Thelma is predeceased by her parents, her husband, Bob, her daughter, Christina (Johnson) Somma, granddaughter Colleen Brennan, Great-Grandson, Adam Wilson, brothers, Robert and William Murphy, son-in-law, Howard Lowe and Grandson-in-law, Thomas Wilson.
Survivors include daughters Melinda F. Lowe; Maredith Brennan (Richard); son, Peter B. Johnson (Kathleen); step-son, Robert Lang (Sylvia); 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Gloria and Hilda Murphy and many nieces and nephews.
Thelma was a wonderful and beloved Mom and Grandmother and an inspiration to all those whose lives she touched.
There will be a memorial for the family in Thelma’s honor at the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona, where she will join Bob, on October 19, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.
We wish to thank all the “Angels” at Emeritus Baywood, (Formerly Cypress Court), and Hospice of the Valley, for their unending kindness and love, shown not only to Thelma, but to her family, during her “journey home”.
