

Theodore “Ted” John Christy passed away on March 31, 2013 in Phoenix, Arizona. Born in Phoenix, Ted arrived on July 14, 1956. His mother, Beverly (nee Moody) married Harold Christy who adopted and raised Ted. Ted married the love of his life, Laurel, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Laurel fell in love with his sense of humor. They spent 32 years loving each other. Having a sense of humor, playing practical jokes came easily to Ted, and he excelled at it. Ted owned a Chick-Fil-A franchise in Mesa, with another location scheduled to open soon in Ahwatukee. He was affiliated with Chick-Fil-A for 23 years. Being outdoors was a source of enjoyment for Ted. An avid fisherman, he could be found casting a line in the White Mountains at Hawley Lake. A loving husband, father, and friend will forever be missed. Ted is survived by adoring wife, Laurel, son and daughter-in-law Kyle and Miranda Holzwordt, sisters Melody (Dan) Hill, and Melissa Rosel, and many nieces and nephews. His mother, Beverly, and son Cory Holzwordt have preceded him in death. A memorial service honoring Ted will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Gold Canyon United Methodist Church 6640 South Kings Ranch Road Gold Canyon, Arizona 85118.
