Virginia was born August 26, 1929 in Benton, IL, to Tom and Noma (Carroll) Pierson. She married Milton Leonard Freeman on 29 May 1948. They lived in the Pekin, IL area for 26 years before retiring to Arizona. They were married 55 years. He passed away June 11, 2003 in Apache Junction, AZ.
Virginia is survived by her son, Milton/Jeff (Diane) Freeman of Peoria, AZ, daughter Nellie (Ron) Sanders of Elizabethtown, KY, her sister, Donna Faye Poge of Mesa, AZ: seven grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 5 great great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Virginia was a devoted mother and homemaker putting others in mind before herself. Virginia liked Gospel songs, country music and dancing. She was an avid baseball fan always pulling for the Diamondbacks and the Cubs.
A Memorial Service will be held at Melcher Mortuary Mission Chapel, 6625 East Main Street, Mesa, AZ 85205, on Tuesday, June 24th at 6:00pm.
