Alisa spent her early years in Chicago and Ohio before moving to Tyler, Texas, and eventually settling in Mesquite, Texas, where she made her home for more than 35 years. A proud graduate of The Ohio State University, she dedicated over three decades of her life to serving others as a compassionate and respected Registered Dietitian. Her career reflected her caring heart and her desire to help people live healthier, happier lives.
Above all, Alisa cherished her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who filled every room with warmth and kindness. She found great joy in simple moments—time spent with her loved ones and the companionship of her beloved dogs, Zac and Witten. She also loved watching the Ohio State Buckeyes and Dallas Cowboys football games.
Alisa was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Bette Dyer.
She leaves behind to honor her memory her loving husband, Craigg Cox of Mesquite, Texas; her daughter, Ashley Zmolik and husband Dusty; her treasured grandchildren, Zane and Whitley Zmolik; her stepson, Scotty Cox and wife Kandra and their children Steven and Maddie; and her stepdaughter, Lela Cox and her children Emma Rae and Lily Cox. She is also remembered fondly by extended family members and many dear friends whose lives she touched.
Alisa’s gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and deep love for her family will be forever missed. While our hearts ache at her absence, we find comfort and peace in knowing we will be reunited with her in Heaven one day.
There will be a Celebration of Life gathering held for Alisa on Sunday, February 15 at 2:00 pm at the Mesquite Elks Lodge #2404 (4201 Gus Thomasson Road).
