Betty June Lackey Slate Wright Howell, age 78, passed away on February 26, 2022 in Mesquite, Texas. She was born on January 7, 1944 in Dallas, Texas to her parents, Louetta and Harry Lackey, Sr. Betty was raised in the Oak Cliff section of Dallas where she graduated from W.H. Adamson in 1962. She married Dione Howell in 1994. She was a claims processor for Travelers Insurance for 20 years. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Dione Howell and son, Alan Slate. She is survived by brothers, Harry and James Lackey and sister, Mary Weseman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Betty’s passions were needle crafts, being outside and animals.
There will be a visitation for Betty at Anderson Clayton Gonzalez Funeral Home in their Stateroom (located at the front of the funeral home) prior to the service on Monday, March 7, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Her service will take place in the funeral home Chapel (located at the rear of the funeral home) following the visitation at 12:30 pm.
