

David John Reznik, 61, passed away unexpectedly on December 19, 2024. Born on June 26, 1963, in Dallas, Texas, he was the son of the late George John Reznik and Dorothy Rose (Urban) Reznik. David grew up in the Lake Highlands area and graduated from Lake Highlands High School in 1981, where he excelled in varsity soccer. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Architecture from Texas Tech University in 1986.
David's vibrant personality was reflected in his diverse activities. He was a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects and served several years within the Planning and Capital Projects department for the City of Plano. In addition, he worked at Lowe's Home Improvement Stores, playing a pivotal role in the opening of several new locations across the country. David also volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for foster children in Dallas County. He took great pride in his Czechoslovakian heritage and was a valued member of SPJST Lodge 84.
David was passionate about nature and the mountains, and he possessed notable talents, including songwriting, guitar playing, and caring for his beloved pet dog Lucy. He dedicated himself lovingly to his aging father and to his younger brother, Jonathan, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sisters Georgia Ann (Reznik) Johnson and Susan (Reznik) McKee, his aunt Jerry Ann Muehlstein, as well as numerous nieces, great-nieces, a nephew, and cousins. David will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life for David will take place on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home, located at 1111 Military Parkway, Mesquite, Texas 75149.
