David Rodriguez, age 83, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2014. David was born on July 6, 1930 in Dallas, TX to Eliseo Rodriguez and Trinidad Rangel Rodriguez who precede him in death. Mr. Rodriguez attended Cumberland Hill school and was a gifted athlete. He excelled in all sports especially baseball. He played shortstop in the Mexican league and competed against some of the best, including Satchel Paige and Ernie Banks of the Kansas City Monarchs. David proudly served his country in the Air Force during the Korean conflict, and upon his return, he gained employment at Bell Helicopter where he worked in assembly for many years. He is preceded in death by his wife Florentina Rodriguez. Survived by his sons David and wife Lissette Rodriguez, and Russell Rodriguez; daughter Joanna Rodriguez and spouse John Farley; sister Eva Gonzales; his companion Cristina Kirchmeyer; Five granddaughters and two great grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces, and a host of other family and friends.
