Eugene Buel Richardson, Jr. was born in Trion, Georgia on August 28, 1937 to Eugene Richardson, Sr. & Ruby Elvira Greene. “Buel” grew up with his sister, Ann, in Chatooga County, Georgia. He was athletic and loved music. He attended Trion High School. At age 17, Buel joined the United States Marine Corps, “Ooh-rah!” He served during the Korean War for 8 years. He was a member of the American Legion for many years. Once a Marine, always a Marine…”Semper Fi!”
In order to provide for his family, Buel, worked as a carpenter and contractor. When he could, Buel enjoyed playing guitar and banjo and singing in a band that played gospel and country music. He enjoyed a good game of golf with friends, and was an Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs fan. He also enjoyed NASCAR as well. If he wasn’t on the golf course, you’d find Buel on his recliner watching his favorite sports or a good ol’ Western.
Buel was a compassionate man, who was always there for the grandchildren. He never met a stranger. He was caring and sincere and was well loved. He will be missed dearly.
On Sunday, September 7, 2014, Eugene “Buel” Richardson, Jr. was called Home to meet his Maker. He was greeted at the Pearly Gates by his parents Eugene Sr. & Ruby Richardson; and by his sister Ann.
His life will continue to be honored and remembered by long-time companion, Linda Haddox of Garland; Christina Purcella and her husband Larry; Diane Wiseman and her husband Shawn; 10 grandchildren; Robin Wooten; Van Richardson; Briana Upton; and many more relatives and close friends.
