Faith Felice Savant Bertram was born in Beaumont, Texas, on February 14, 1951, to parents Rev. Horace and Elizabeth Savant. She was a graduate of Orangefield High School, and attended Texas Bible College in Houston. She also attended Schreiner College in Kerrville and was a graduate of the Licensed Vocational Nurses’ program. She had a career in nursing and in later years was an administrative assistant for Savant Transcription Service. Her warm, vivacious, fun-loving personality was beloved by so many. She made friends everywhere she went in all walks of life, sharing her zest for life and laughter with anyone who happened to be near her at the time. The twinkle in her eye brightened all our hearts and even in her illness she often found something that made her laugh. The love in her heart was seen in so many ways, and often reached out to those in need.
As a young girl she won the award at church for bringing the most visitors. Her love for God motivated her to attend Texas Bible College after high school. Through the years she helped in many churches and ministry outreaches, including helping to establish a Sidewalk Sunday School that continued for many years. She volunteered in feeding the homeless and in helping a large outreach ministry still in operation today. She had a special tenderness for the elderly and brought joy to many of those throughout her lifetime.
Faith was a devoted mother for her son and took delight in two generations of nieces and nephews. She is survived by her son, Jonathan David Bertram. Her siblings are Gaye Grun, Hope Savant, and Joseph Savant. Her nieces and nephews are Rachel Savant; Elizabeth Brinkley and Ariana and Nicky; Jordan and April Savant and Noble, Belle, River and Ranger; Samuel and Lura Grun; Esther and Cody McIlvain.
