Flora “Flo” Vivion, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt, and friend to many, peacefully passed on October 15, 2023, at the age of 93. Flo was born on March 13, 1930, in Monroe, Louisiana to Auston and Lena O’Neal. She was a devoted wife to her husband of 50 years, Richard “Dick” Vivion who passed in June of 2000. Together Flo and Dick had 4 sons; Noel, Guy, Ross, and Scott who were her pride and joy.
Flo and Dick met and married in Los Angeles, California. Due to Dick’s career, they went on to live in three states and ten cities (two of them twice) throughout their lives. Flo loved to talk about their times in the different states and cities with their sons. Some of her favorite places they lived were Los Angeles and Westlake Village, California, Midland and Austin, Texas and Lacey, Washington.
After being a homemaker for many years, Flo proudly served as a church secretary in Austin, Texas until her retirement in 2016 at the age of 86. She was an avid reader and took pride in cataloging all the many books she read. She loved butterflies, hummingbirds, and the sound of her wind chimes. Family members will cherish the memory of her always wearing her favorite “driving gloves” any time she got behind the wheel. Flo’s favorite thing to do was spend time with her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as Meme, Meems, and G-Meme. Flo was loved by so many and will be remembered for her giving heart, spunky attitude, happy demeanor, particularness, and quick wit.
Flo is survived by her daughter-in-law Susan Vivion, sons Guy Vivion and wife Deborah, Ross Vivion and wife June, and Scott Vivion; grandchildren Matt Vivion and wife Danielle, Daniel Vivion and fiancé Krista, Lena Vivion, Ryan Vivion, Cherice Knearem and husband Beau, and Chase Vivion and wife Caitlyn; great-grandchildren Piper, Lincoln, Laila, Luke, Loren, Allana and husband Taylor, Colton, Bryson, and Remington; as well as dearly loved nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Auston and Lena O’Neal; brother Dave, sister Genie; husband Richard “Dick”; son Noel; daughter-in-law Rene’ and great-grandchild Haven.
Flo will be greatly missed by her loved ones who take comfort in knowing she is reunited with family and friends in heaven.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at 11:00 am at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North I-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
