Georgia Ruth Shockley peacefully ascended to her heavenly home at 5:00pm on Friday, April 28th 2023 at the age of 91. She is preceded in death by her mother Edna Johnson, father Johnny Pruitt, and will rejoin her son-in-law, Jerry Carlisle and great-grandson, Nathan Oxford in heaven. Her legacy lives on though her daughters and son-in-law Lana Carlisle, Pam Garza, Debbie Lane, Vergie Cobb and Ronnie Cobb. During her 91 years Ms. Shockley was known by many titles including mother, friend, “cookie grandma”, and most recently, great-great-grandma. She will be missed by many and will always be remembered for her work ethic, quick wit, and unbreakable spirit. She retired from Neiman Marcus, and was beloved by her coworkers and customers alike. Ms. Shockley was a proud Christian and a long time member of First Baptist Church of Meadowview in Mesquite. Georgia Shockley lived a full and happy life, and is sure to be dancing into heaven with her hair freshly styled, a big bowl of candy, and a bottle of wine to share with her savior. She is leaving behind a large family and many friends, but her legacy will never be forgotten.

Adele Garza, Marsha Wilson, Michaelle Tedder, Alan Henderson Jr, Jackie Oxford, Stephanie Sanders, Billy Cox, Aaron Cox, and Whitley Gilbert.
Ms. Shockley also has a growing list of over 20 Great and Great-Great Grandchildren.
A visitation for Georgia will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Anderson Clayton Gonzalez Funeral Home, 1111 Military Parkway, Mesquite, Texas 75149. A graveside service will occur Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hillcrest Cemetery Forney, 100 - 2299 Pinson Rd, Forney, Texas 75126.
