Joyce Baylor was born on April 30, 1945 in Smithville, Texas as the second child to Clay and Ora Lee Baylor. She has one brother, Covy Baylor, and they were raised in Dallas, Texas. Joyce graduated from W.W. Samuell High School in 1963 and attended Business College after graduation. She was never married. She was employed at Mitchell Company for four years, and was employed at Lone Star Gas for one year. Joyce enjoyed playing the piano, taking pictures and sending and receiving letters. She loved children of all ages, but especially the babies, always offering to hold and nurture them. Another favorite hobby of hers was going to the park to watch the ducks. She also enjoyed reading and coloring books for adults. Attending church was the highlight of her week; Joyce was a very devoted member and was known to her church community as the “unofficial” greeter. Joyce was always welcoming her church family with a warm, contagious smile. Her family describes her as always smiling. She never complained even though she did have physical challenges in her life. She was kind, patient and everyone that knew her loved her. The family historian, Joyce had a knack for remembering everyone in the family, every place her family lived, birthdays, anniversaries and events in others lives as well as her own. Joyce is survived by her brother Covy Baylor and wife Faith of Dallas, Texas; Niece Kathy Bonney and husband Brian Bonney of Plano, Texas and Connie Rodriguez of Balch Springs, Texas; her Great-Nephews Jeremy, Grant, Matt and Justin; and Great-Nieces Celeste and Gabriella.
