Larry was born on February 23, 1951, in Dallas, Texas, to David and Jean Guynes. A devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend, Larry was known for his intelligence, determination, patience, and quiet strength. A man of few words, he spoke with intention and lived with purpose. After graduating high school, he earned his associate’s degree and went on to work in logistics operations for over 30 years. Whether at work or with loved ones, Larry left a lasting impact on everyone he met.
He enjoyed western movies and TV shows, sports, wrestling, playing bingo, and hunting. A man of routine, Larry found joy in staying prepared, starting each day early, and arriving at appointments well ahead of time. He would drop everything to help those he loved, always steady, always dependable.
Larry’s greatest joy came from spending time with family and friends. Though reserved, his presence was strong and reassuring — a quiet anchor in the lives of those who knew him best.
Larry is survived by his mother, Jean Guynes; his sisters, Sherreye Guynes and Lisa Cuttill; and his brother, Brian Guynes. He is also survived by his nephews, Nathan Cuttill, Scott Guynes, and Shane Guynes; his nieces, Lauren Cuttill and Shawn Guynes; and his great-nieces, Analeah Guynes and Iris Cuttill. Larry will also be remembered fondly by his close friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, David W. Guynes.
A celebration of life will be held on July 10, 2025 at 10:00 am at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez in Mesquite. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you share your fondest memory of Larry.
