I remember one day Gail asked me if I wanted to go to her parents house for dinner. I said sure and asked what are we having? She told me her mother was frying up some rabbit. I thought why not. I’m usually up for trying new things. Lila made the most delicious rabbit ever. I think I ate about 4 pieces and wanted more but I didn’t want to be greedy. She told me come over again and she fix me some more! She was a very gentle and kind person and will be missed. God bless the family.

Potato Soup.

That's the first thing I think of when I think of Granny. She made the absolute best potato soup anyone's ever tasted, and I distinctly remember how excited she was to make it for the family any opportunity she could. It made her so happy to make us happy. She was thrilled any time she had the chance to have us over to visit or to watch over us growing up, and I have the fondest memories of helping her in the garden, shucking corncobs, watching judge shows during the mid summer days - I just hope she knew how much of an impression all of that love left.

I love you Granny, and I hope you're resting peacefully. thank you for all the lessons you taught me while I was growing up, and showing me the same love that I got from my own Mawmaw. it will never be forgotten.

I feel so lucky to have had her as my Mom! She taught me the value of honesty, kindness and a strong work ethic. My most recent memories of her... I Love the fact that at 85, she would still go out and weed eat; and watching her. Excited like a little kid when Publishers Clearing House stuff came in the mail... she would say with a big smile, “I got another one, will you help me fill it out.” She was so sure she was going to win, she told me the people will be here Friday. She also said “when I win, I know I want to give part of the money to the Cancer Society, Shriners Hospital, and to help people with a cleft pallet. I will miss her dearly!

I met Lila when I met Gail. She called me maw maw and I always called her granny. She was always very easy to love because she had such a kind and gentle spirit. This sweet lady loved my son as her on and was very much loved in return. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. RIP granny 🙏❤️

Granny loved me like only a mother could, and I loved her right back. She was the kindest lady I ever knew and I’m going to miss her more than I could ever say.

Many thanks to all for the thoughts and prayers, they mean everything to us.

Lila and I shared many hours on the exercise machines and many weekly breakfasts. She was such a special lady. I am so glad to have had her as my friend and gab buddy these years. I will miss her greatly. Love you, Lila. Judy Thomason
