Linda Marie Mershon

Linda Marie Mershon, age 71, entered into rest on April 9, 2017 in Mesquite, Texas. She was born October 4, 1945 in Silsbee, Texas to Howard and Johnnie Marie Hawn. Linda was raised in Nederland and graduated from Nederland High School in 1964, and she attended East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas. She married Lester Mershon in 1975 and the couple had four children. She was an Insurance Coordinator at Dr. Allen Brodsky’s where she worked for more than twenty years. In her spare time Linda enjoyed camping, reading, listening to gospel music, coloring and spending time with her family. Her family describes her as a wonderful mother, sister, and wife. She valued her friends and family and was generous with her time and advice. She also considered her pets as her own children and loved them dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents Howard and Johnnie Hawn; and her first husband Travis Williams. Linda is survived by her husband of 42 years, Lester Mershon; her daughter Lara and husband Michael Gibson, and Liz Mershon; her sons Richie and wife Erika Mershon, and Michael Mershon; her sister Molly Hawn and husband Tim Oswalt; her brother Danny and wife Connie Hawn; ten grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. When she was able she was an active member of Bobtown Road Baptist.
