

Mrs. Hobbs, was born on March 5, 1933, to Jewell and Otis Nevil in Farmersville, TX.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Mr. Rufus Hobbs, her twin daughters Onita and Juanita Hobbs, and her brothers, Walter Dee, Roy and Bill Nevil.
After attending W.W. Adamson High School, Mrs. Hobbs was trained as a beautician and LVN. But her greatest joy was being a homemaker and raising her three children and seven grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, playing cards, traveling, studying the Bible, and playing with her dogs.
As a Christian, Mrs. Hobbs loved to teach others about Jesus. She took pride in nurturing and loving her grandchildren, pets and plants.
She is survived by three children, Kathy Stuart of Mesquite, Rufus McDaniel Hobbs and his wife Sondra of Huntsville, and Debbie Shepherd and her husband Curtis of Sunnyvale. Mrs. Hobbs is survived by seven grandchildren, Kristen, Christopher, Laura, Jason, Maryanne, Jeremy and Brandi; and 16 great grandchildren, Joseph, Jacey, Grace, Abbie, Anna, Jacquelin, Aaron, Wyatt, Clay, Jaylee, Melody, Audrey, William, Noah, Weston and Harper.
A Celebration of Life will take place, Friday, Feb. 17, at 10:30 a.m. at Gonzalez Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, Feb. 16, from 5-7 p.m. The burial will take place at Mesquite Cemetery immediately following Friday’s service.
