

Lyle Lee Snyder, 78, passed away on May 1, 2017 in Sunnyvale, Texas. He was born on October 13, 1938 in Sterling, Illinois to Walter and Mary Snyder. Lyle was raised in Sterling, Illinois and attended Sterling High School. He moved to Texas to be near his children and lived in Bonham, Texas for many years.
He served his country in the United States Army for three years.
Lyle married Mary in 1984. The couple had a combined family that includes four children. He was an employee for Franz Garage Doors and co-owner of a cleaning company.
In his spare time, Lyle enjoyed being outdoors around animals and birds, painting and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. He loved a good meal: steak, creamed corn, cantaloupe or watermelon. He enjoyed a good cup of coffee with cream and plenty of sugar.
He was a nature lover and a friend to all animals. A former racecar driver in his 20’s, he loved mechanical things, most specifically trains.
Lyle is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Mary Snyder and his brother, Walt.
He is survived by his wife Mary Snyder; children Laurie Fox, Charles McDonald, John Snyder, and Kenneth Williams; grandchildren Avery Fox, Devin Snyder, William Snyder, Kendra Williams, and Melinda Brown; and eight great-grandchildren Zachary, Ethan, Aaron, Ryley, Ashley, Henry, Alexander and Austin. He is also survived by his sister Mary Ann Nelson.
