Mary Beth Morris

Mary C. Morris, age 67, entered into rest on January 25, 2017 in Dallas, Texas. She was born on December 18, 1949 in Winnsboro, Texas to Vernon Sanford and Gladys Chaffin. Mary was raised in Mesquite, Texas and attended Mesquite High School before graduating from El Centro College in Dallas, Texas. She married Henry L. Morris in 1969 and the couple had two children. She was a Verizon Office Tech at Verizon Phone Company where she worked for more than 20 years. In her spare time Mary enjoyed sports with the boys, movies, craft fairs where she searched for the perfect Christmas items to add to her collection though she loved Santa Claus the most, spending time with her family, and also the changing of the seasons. Her family and friends will always remember her as a very giving person, and someone who would help any member of her family that might be in need. She is described by her family as being the loveliest and most caring wife, and a loving mother to her children who kept an open mind. Her husband Henry describes her as a woman devoted to his care and well-being to ensure he had everything he needed to be happy and healthy. She is survived by her husband Henry L Morris; her sons Shannon Patrick Morris and Troy Glen Morris; daughter-in-law Allison Morris; mother Gladys Chaffin; two brothers Jerry Wayne Chaffin and John Gregory Chaffin; nephew Shawn Chaffin; niece Crystal Chaffin; great-niece Christy; great-nephew Chase; and great-great-nephews Will and Alex Chaffin. Mary Morris will be missed a great deal for years and years to come by everyone in her life that was able to experience her warmth. A visitation will take place the evening of Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home in Mesquite, Texas. A Celebration of Life will take place the morning of Monday, January 30, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home with a burial to follow at Lee Cemetery in Winnsboro, Texas.
