Myrtle Ruth Miskell was born on February 18, 1931 in Mesquite, Texas to Sherwood Wilson Badgett & Bessie Putt. She was the fourth of seven children who grew up in Pleasant Grove with her siblings. Growing up she taught her little sister, Frances how to roller skate and use a skate key. She also enjoyed being at home with mom.
“Ruth” as most knew her, had some artistic talent. She knew how to sew, knit and crochet. She enjoyed making crafts for everyone. Ruth was a loving caring woman her kept to herself. She worked very hard as a waitress in order to provide for her daughter. Ruth also enjoyed watching old Westerns.
Ruth was a woman of faith. She was a member of the Landmark Baptist Church in Honey Grove.
On Wednesday, May 21, 2014, Myrtle “Ruth” Miskell was called Home. She was greeted in Heaven by her parents: Sherwood & Bessie Badgett; her husband, Ray L. Miskell and her daughter, Blenda A. Sutton.
Her life will continue to be remembered and celebrated by her siblings: Virginia Stone of Oklahoma and Frances Burge of Red Oak, TX; her three grandchildren: Joe, William and Heather; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
