Nicole Sylvia Shiluk was born on June 20, 1983 in Elmhurst, Illinois to Paul Shiluk & Chris Grieg-Shiluk. She was the eldest of three, all girls, who grew up in Rowlett. She was a hyper child who always found herself getting into things. She attended LakeView Centennial High School and graduated Class of 2001. All through childhood and into her 20s, Nicole was an ice skater. She loved being at the rink, specifically, Dr. Pepper Center in Plano and skated competitively in her younger years. She was always a social butterfly, truly loved being with people. These characteristics came in handy, as she was waitress. She worked as a server at J Pepe’s of Dallas, and was great at it! This is also where she met her husband to be, Gustavo Hernandez, Sr. “Nicky”, as most knew her, was a busy mom of two children, Jaden & Gustavo “Jr”. Though her children kept her busy, Nicky always made time for her family and close friends. On Tuesday, August 26, 2014, Nicole Shiluk was called to Heaven. She was greeted in the clouds by her grandmother, Rosemarie Grieg & her aunt Marion Kolpak. Though her life on Earth was taken too soon, we know that she loved much and was loved by many. She will be missed more than words can express. Nicole’s life will continue to be remembered and celebrated by her parents: Paul Shiluk & Chris Grieg-Shiluk; her husband Gustavo Hernandez, Sr.; her sisters: Sally Bright and her husband Casey of Roundrock; and younger sister Katie Shiluk; grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Volpe; brother-in-law Javier Hernandez; cousins: Jennifer Patula, Lynne Theisen, Brent Magnus, Stephanie Magnus; aunt, Mary Magnus; close friends: Corine Asbel, Brittney Serrano, and Nathan Daniels; co-worker to Nicky and cousin to Gustavo, Omar Hernandez; her co-workers at J. Pepe’s and many more relatives & friends.
