

Philipa Marie Remington passed away on December 8, 2021 in Dallas, Texas after a brief illness. She was born on June 19, 1949 in Dallas, Texas to Fred Alan Tillery and Patsie Marie Tillery. She is survived by her two sons, Christopher and Alexander Remington of Austin, Texas; her sister, Shanda Burkett and her husband, Chris Burkett of Mansfield, Texas and their two sons, Josh and Jeremy Burkett , of Dallas, Texas and by her three adoring cats, Izzy, Eve and the mysterious Bogie. She graduated in 1967 from W W Samuell High School in Dallas, Texas where she was a member of the drill team and attended the University of Texas at Arlington where she graduated in 1971 with a degree in linguistics. She later attended Southern Methodist University School of Law and graduated in 1978 with a Doctorate of Jurisprudence. Philipa was a founding partner in the Dallas law firm of Thiebaud Remington Thornton and Bailey and over the years represented hundreds of physicians and medical care facilities in complex medical litigation. She was a member of the State Bar of Texas for over 43 years and had a life-long passion for the practice of law.
She will lie eternally next to her beloved grandmother, Eva Clarkson, with whom she was very close. As we all mourn the loss of our mother, sister, aunt, law partner and best friend, Philipa will be having a ball shopping with her Granny for shoes at Neiman Marcus in NorthPark and preparing to have lunch at the Mermaid Bar.
A graveside service for Philipa will be held Friday, December 17, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75228. A private family viewing will occur.
