Thad Lee Lindsey Jr. was born in Jackson, Mississippi on December 30, 1950 to Thad Lee Lindsey Sr. and Edna Earl Farabee Lindsey who preceded him in death. He was the oldest of five children. He was known by family and close friends as "Peter". He fought a long and good fight, and finished his race on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. He is now with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He leaves behind a devoted wife of 24 years, Sandra Faye Lindsey ("Jethrine").
Thad attended Lanier High School where he graduated in 1968. During his high school years, he enjoyed playing football, baseball, and was once nominated as "Mr. Senior". Upon graduating high school, he attended Tennessee State and later transferred to Jackson State University. He was drafted into the United States Army to Vietnam. After completing his tour with Vietnam, he transferred into the Air Force. He went on to work with Homeland Security where he later retired after 30 years.
Thad joined St. Luther Missionary Baptist Church as a child where he was a dedicated servant of Christ and a dedicated member. He loved working with computers, cooking, working in his yard, and spending time with family, especially his grandkids.
Thad's legacy will continue with his daughters: Natalie Lindsey, Erica Lindsey and Sonya Buckner; a son
Michael Lindsey (who preceded him in death), grandchildren; Michael Lindsey Jr, Sasha Buckner, Kamron Brown, Mercedes Lindsey, Omari Lindsey, Noah James, Daniel Williams II, and one Great-Grandson Allan Brown II, of which all he admired, sisters; Sandra McGee and Valerie Lindsey, brothers; Frederick Lindsey (who preceded him in death) and David Lindsey, nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.

A wake for Thad will be held Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Anderson Clayton Gonzalez Funeral Home Chapel, 1111 Military Parkway, Mesquite, Texas 75149. A funeral service will occur Friday, September 29, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 1111 Military Parkway, Mesquite, Texas 75149. A committal service will occur Friday, September 29, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 2:15 PM at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211. A reception will occur Friday, September 29, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Anderson Clayton Gonzalez Funeral Home, 1111 Military Parkway, Mesquite, Texas 75149.
