Virginia Nell Townsend

Virginia Nell Townsend, 84, of Mesquite Texas, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. Born in Lakeview Texas on June 9, 1931 she was the daughter of the late Ervin and Tammie Payne. She was predeceased by her husband of fifty-five years Frank Herbert Townsend of Oxford, Pennsylvania. Virginia graduated from Lakeview High School in 1950 and in her adult life completed a degree in Real Estate. She was a consummate mother and homemaker. After raising her children Virginia held jobs in the Retail and Real Estate markets. Virginia was a member of the Eastern Star Dal-Cliff Chapter 574, the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Dallas Chapter 1837, and the VFW John Franklin Sprague post 6796. Known as Nana to her family, Virginia had a love for travel, socializing, writing in her diary, tending to her plants and spending time with family. Virginia was a loving mother to two children, daughter Suzette Eldred and husband Johnny of Mesquite, son Frank H. Townsend II and wife Tina of Wylie, Grandchildren – Trenton Austin, Drue Eldred, Dylan Townsend, Savannah Townsend, and many nieces and nephews. She will be put to rest with her husband at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
