Willie Lee Brown

Willie played football for and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School, Dallas County. As a young teenager he was a shoeshine boy in the Grove. He then went to work at John E. Mitchell Company in Dallas alongside his father, brothers, uncles, and cousins. Later he was a supervisor at Republic Sheet Metal Company in Dallas. He retired in 2000 from the Texas A&M (Baylor) Dental College, Dallas. Willie was a Freemason in the Masonic Temple, Dallas. He and his family are members of Riley Christian Church, Riley.

Willie met the love of his life Margaret Ann Taylor at Pleasant Grove High School, married her and celebrated 66 years together.

Willie’s parents Willie Hardy Brown and Bessie Penland Brown, an infant sister, brother Merle Brown and wife June, brother Floyd Brown and wife Margie, sister Christine Harville and husband Aril, infant son Christopher Brown, and nephew Larry Brown predeceased him.

Willie’s wife Margaret, his son Terrence Lee Brown, Charlotte Finley, sister Phyllis Shepherd, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends survive him.

Willie enjoyed visiting and conversations with family and friends, as well as being at home where he spent time on his beautiful property.
