Agnes Jane King

Agnes Jane King, age 94 a longtime resident of New Orleans and Metairie, Louisiana passed away Wednesday, July 06, 2016. Agnes Jane was born August 04, 1921 in Clinton, Iowa. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Ernest Joseph King, Jr. and their son John Ernest King, her parents Martin J. Hynes and mother Clara K. Hynes, brother Edward Hynes, and sister Marjorie “Margie” Hynes Powell. Mother of Carole K. Ledet (Wayne Melerine), grandmother of Michelle Levy Monson (Mark) and Mark Levy, great-grandmother of Brianna, Savannah, Brayden and Alice, aunt of Jeanne Jordano and great-aunt of Vicki Rousseau. She was a parishioner of St. Edward The Confessor Church, and enjoyed participating in the Emmaus prayer group. Agnes Jane had a passion for volunteering at Longue Vue House and Gardens for many years. The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Anthony Nursing Home for their compassionate and loving care during her stay there. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to invite relatives, friends and the staff of St. Anthony Nursing Home to attend a visitation on Friday, July 15 from 2 pm to 3 pm at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana 70006.
