

Alfred Ellsworth Moore passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the age of 91. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 46 years, Myrtle Goodrich Moore, and his second wife of 11 years, Dorothy Moore. He is survived by three daughters, Lynne Williams (Tom), Karen Dantin (the late Danny), and Cindy McDonnell (Walter); Six grandchildren, Monica Brooks (Dan), Brent Williams (Ellen), Michael Dantin, Bryan McDonnell (Alida), Kevin McDonnell (Jennifer), Kelly Cobb (Brandon); and ten great-grandchildren, Scout Brooks, Levi Brooks, Elias Williams, Austin McDonnell, Emily McDonnell, Marissa McDonnell, Alexandra McDonnell, John McDonnell, Caroline Cobb, and Chloe Cobb. Also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Danielle Dantin, and his parents, Dora and Thomas Moore. Al served his country in the U.S. Army and retired after 33 years from LP&L (Entergy) as Plant Operator-Fossil at Ninemile Point. A longtime Saints season ticketholder, he also loved watching football, baseball and boxing and enjoyed fishing and crabbing. In addition, he liked playing poker and shooting pool, especially with his family.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Leitz-Eagan Chapel, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, Metairie, on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Garden of Memories.
