Alice Rafferty Brechtel, age 89, passed away on Tuesday April 1, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Gilbert J. Brechtel, Jr. Mother of Bridget Gerdes (Bob), Gilbert J. Brechtel, III (Karen), Karen Massett (the Late Louis), Alison Robertson (Bob), Holly Galiano (Norvin), Colleen Feindel, Shawn Fabra and the late Mary Brian Comeaux. Also survived by 23 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents George Rafferty and Martina Daly Rafferty. Sister of George “Steve” Rafferty and the late Jane Luquet. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie, LA on Friday, April 4, 2014 at 4:00pm. Visitation from 1:00pm until time of service. Private interment in Greenwood Cemetery. A celebration of Alice’s life will take place at Lakeshore Playground party room, 1125 Rosa Avenue in Metairie at 6pm. Family and friends are welcome.
