Alice Pool Gordon, age, 90, was called Home on Monday, September 05, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Clyde Gordon; she is also predeceased by her parents John and Lottie Pool and her brothers and sisters, Geraldine Abner, J.R. Pool, Glenda Temple, Bill Pool, Burton Pool, Donald Pool and Gene Ray Pool. She was the loving mother of Sherry G. Smyth, Charles B. Gordon and wife Ann, and Billy Gordon and wife Sandy, proud grandmother of Louis John Smyth III, and wife Margaret, Kathryn “Kate” Alice Gordon and Victoria Ann Gordon; she is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Alice was an avid gardener who worked tirelessly in her yard and loved to share her flowers. In her forties, she discovered she had a talent and passion for painting. Untrained, she learned and experimented with painting on her own and came to consider herself an artist. She liked to sing and yodel, and in her final year of life, she brought many smiles to the patients and staff at Chateau Living Center in Kenner while singing and yodeling as she rolled down the hall in her wheelchair. Alice’s greatest passion of all was her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them, telling stories of her childhood in rural Missouri, singing to them, cooking for them, painting with them, putting jigsaw puzzles together, and just loving them.
