Arnold Gerald Lanza sadly passed away on September 3, 2024, in his hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with strength and perseverance. Despite the pain, Arnold came out a hero and stayed strong until the end. He was a loving Father, grandfather, son, and friend. His family will remember him as a man’s man. He was the type of person who would choose to repair something over buying a new one. He valued hard work, honesty, and the value of a man’s word. To his children, he was loving but fair and made sure to instill his values in them. He was a proud Catholic born and raised in the New Orleans - Metairie area. His greatest joy was watching his granddaughter and being with his children. He also enjoyed going to the camp with friends, fishing, and doing anything he could to help someone out. He would never turn down a good BBQ or seafood boil.
He is survived by his children, Samantha and Cameron, granddaughter, Harper, and nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Salvador “Sam” Lanza, mother, Mary Fontana Lanza, and brother, Bernard Lanza.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Arnold touched are invited to Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana, on Thursday, September 19, 2024, for a Visitation from 5 pm -7 pm, followed by a Prayer Service at 7 pm in the Leitz-Eagan Chapel. Psalms 73:26: “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
