Audrey Kelt Cortez

Audrey Kelt Cortez passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday evening, May 27, 2017. She was 81 years old. Beloved wife of the late Rudolph “Rudy” Cortez. Loving mother of Sharon McLeese (Danny), Janet Cortez, Linda Cortez Pampin (Gerado), Mark Cortez (Debbie), Barry Cortez (Cathy), Pamela Newberry (Wally), and Eric Cortez. Adoring grandmother of Tara McLeese, Gina McLeese, Jessica McLeese, the late L/Cpl Justin McLeese; Alexis Landry, Justin Landry; Jared Tassin, Adam Tassin, Stephen Tassin; Rebecca Redler RN, Corinne Weinstein MD; Tawny Rhodes RN, Andrea Jordan, Jacque Cortez, S/SGT Aaron Cortez, Phillip Cortez; and Chad Newberry, Drew Newberry. Great-grandmother of 12. Daughter of the late Harold and Eleanore Kelt. Sister of Shirley Boudreaux, Gloria Dibos, Beverly Samuel, Richard Kelt, and the late Doris Cusimano, Douglas Kelt, and Harold Kelt Jr. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Audrey was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Kenner. She was a devout Catholic and parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP, 1908 Short Street, Kenner, on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 12:00 noon.
