Barry Paul Esler Sr. passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday morning, July 10, 2015. He was 77 years old. Beloved husband of the late Kay Noel Esler. Loving father of Barry Esler Jr., Fay Martin (Scott), Kay Manint (Edward), George Esler (Kelli), and the late Doris Rose Porter (Nick). Brother of Carolyn McDowell (Huey), Sally Esler, Georgia Dietrich, and Danny Esler (Cheryl). Son of the late George and Florence Esler. Also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Barry was a native of New Orleans and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a “railroad man” for Norfolk Southern, and later Amtrak. Barry loved to go crabbing, and was a proud lead volunteer at the food pantry at First Baptist Church in Chalmette.
