Bertha R. Townsend “Nanny”, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, June 01, 2011. Sister of Elvera T. Hebert, Yvonne M. Townsend, Dorothy T. DeBrock (Bob) and the late Henry M. Townsend, Jr. Godmother of Michelle Guttierrez (Jimmy) and nephews: Henry Townsend III, Brian Townsend and Timothy Townsend. Great Aunt of Jamie and Jessica Guttierrez, Celeste, Alaina, Jillian and Dylan Townsend. Preceded in death by her parents Henry M. Townsend, Sr. and Bertha W. Townsend. Bertha was an employee of Wm. B. Reilly’s Coffee Co. and was a member of the Krewe of Venus and the Krewe of Isis.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 1:00 pm.
