Betty Marie Becker

Betty Schouest Becker passed away on March 30, 2013, at the age of 73. She was predeceased by her late husband Roy J. Becker; her parents Anatole Schouest and Maude Pertuit Schouest; her late finance’ Joseph J. Bohner; and her siblings Daniel Schouest and his wife Dottie and Dorothy Schouest Stortz and her husband Clayton. She is survived by her children Cathy Ellis and son-in-law Kevin and Roy J. Becker, Jr. and daughter –in-law Peggy; her grandchildren Kevin Ellis, Jr., Brittany Becker and Angela Ellis; her siblings Donald Schouest and his wife Sue, Dudley Schouest and his wife Janet, Adam Schouest and his wife Danelda and Mary Ann Rodriguez and her late husband Delton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was a retired hairdresser of 25 years and longtime resident of New Orleans and current resident of Metairie. Her loving, caring and generous nature touched the lives of all those around her. Her strong, unwavering faith allowed her to encourage and bring hope to her loved ones during her long battle with cancer. She will be sadly missed, but her loving spirit will be carried on in the hearts of her loved ones.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to a visitation at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 631 State Street, New Orleans, LA 70118. The visitation will take place from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, followed by a mass beginning at 11:00 am. The burial service will immediately follow the mass at Restlawn Park Mausoleum. Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
