Mr. Carlos "Cisco" R. Fernandez Sr.

Carlos (Cisco) R. Fernandez, Sr., age 67, passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at home surrounded by his loving family. A native of Guatemala City, Guatemala, he was a resident of Kenner for 47 years. He is survived by his devoted wife Zoila A. Fernandez. Beloved father of Virginia Fernandez, Judith Fernandez, Mario Fernandez, and Carlos R. Fernandez Jr. (Shondell). Brother of Johnny Fernandez (Maria), Eduardo Fernandez (Haydee), Any Lopez (Carlos), Carmen Andara (Alonso), and Mery Echevaria (Carlos). Son of the late Juan Fernandez Mendia and the late Martha Virginia Calvinisti Fernandez. Beloved grandfather of 8 grandchildren. Much loved uncle of many nieces and nephews. Mr. Fernandez was a welder with Avondale Shipyards for 35 years. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Serenity Hospice for the loving care given to our father. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd, in Metairie, LA on Saturday, November 6, 2010 beginning at 11:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 1:00PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel. Inurnment will be private at the Garden of Memories.
