

Carole Mae "Tex" Buchert McCoy, age 75 died at her home surrounded by family and loved ones. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 12, 1935 and was a resident of Metairie for over 55 years.
Carole Mae never met a stranger was everyone's friend. She was loving and kind. She loved Mardi Gras and was a "Die Hard" Saints fan. From an early age, she was always an animal lover. She was a great mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Carole Mae will be sadly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. McCoy, Jr.; her mother, Olivia Gonzales Melton and her brother, Joseph Buchert. Carole Mae is survived by her loving and devoted children: Delores "Lodi" T. Barker, Andrew "Andy" McCoy (Cheryl), Michael "Mike" McCoy (Sheryl), Charles "Dink" R. McCoy III (Lisa); her grandchildren: Leslie B. Adams, Niki B. Roach, Angie M. Mahne, Mike Jr., Kelli, Andy Jr., Chandler, Connor and Cayden McCoy and her loving siblings: George P. Buchert (Elaine), Agnes (Aggie) M. Gall (Bill), Patricia “Pat” M. Borland (Tom) and Diann M. Irwin (Gabby). She is also survived by her uncle, Donald "Speedy" Gonzales (Helen), her aunt, Marie G. Tassin, 9 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and loving friends. She will be especially missed by Annie and Maggie, her precious dogs.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
