

Carrie Paulann Davis received her wings on January 23, 2025, at the age of 78, with her family by her side. She was born September 6, 1946, in Pine Grove, La, the Daughter of the late Deacon Amos Seals Sr and Mattie Mae Seals. She received her formal education from St. Helena Parish Schools. She also attended college at Southern University Baton Rouge and Southern University New Orleans and taught school at Morgan Elementary in Montpelier, La, as well as an educator in the Jefferson Parish School System, where she loved working with special needs children. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She enjoyed cooking, crafts and watching football, college and professional. She lived her life to the fullest.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Tennessee Butler, her parents, Deacon Amos Seals Sr and Mattie Mae Seals, three sisters, Mary Sewer, Ruby Jackson, and Neomia H. Tendell, and two grandchildren, Terance Augustine and Asia Davis.
She is survived by five daughters, Tennie Butler of Fairfax, VA, Christy Davis of Metairie, La, Hermoine (Larry) Spencer of Laplace, La, Kenya Davis of Kenner, La, and Jessica Davis of New Orleans, La, two brothers, Jonathan Seals of Los Angeles, CA and Amos Seals Jr of Kenner, La, three sisters, Willie Mae Thomas of Kenner, La, Mable Davis of Zachary, La and Linda (Robert) Williams of Laplace, La. Her legacy continues through her memories, 25 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend Services, which will be held Friday, January 31, 2025, at Kenner Calvary Baptist Church, 929 S. Sibley St, Metairie, La 70003 at 10:00 am. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am. Interment will be at Belle Grove Cemetery, Decatur St, Kenner, La 70062 following the funeral service.
