Born on January 16, 1963, in New Orleans at Mercy Hospital, Charles was the beloved son of Cleveland Phillip Casanovas and the late Adele Johnson Casanovas. He grew up surrounded by love, humor, and the steady presence of family alongside his siblings, Christopher Casanovas (favorite sil Donna Casanovas) and Elizabeth Guidroz.
Charles was a devoted uncle who treasured his nieces and nephew: Kacie Lehman (Jeff), Christopher Casanovas, Lauren Guidroz, and great-nephew, Easton Lehman. His gentle nature, warm smile, and unwavering support made him a constant source of comfort and pride to his family.
A graduate of Bonnabel High School’s Class of 1981, Charles went on to attend Jefferson Vo-Tech, where he trained as a diesel mechanic. He dedicated over 40 years to the Regional Transit Authority (RTA) where he not only built a respected career but also formed deep and lasting friendships. Charles enjoyed getting together with his work buddies for crawfish boils and other social events.
Charles’ life was defined by quiet strength, loyalty, and a deep love for those closest to him. He will be remembered for his devotion to his mom and his dad. He touched many lives with his humble spirit and will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
May his memory be a blessing and a source of comfort to those who mourn his loss.
