It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Christian Henry Eichhorn, a beloved husband, stepfather, brother, and friend, who left this world on June 27, 2025, at the young age of 73. Christian was born on December 1, 1951 in New Orleans, Louisiana, and it is fitting that he spent both his birth and final days in the city he cherished.
Christian was the son of Roy Christian Eichhorn and Joyce Weber Eichhorn, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda M. Eichhorns, who was his steadfast partner, and his cherished stepdaughter, Marlo Jeansonne, along with his beloved granddaughter, Haley Jeansonne. He also leaves behind his brother, Roy Eichhorn (Janet), his sister, Joy Smith (Bill), and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever hold him in their hearts.
Christian and Linda shared a beautiful life together, having been married on June 20, 2000, on the picturesque island of St. Maarten. Their love story was one filled with laughter, adventure, and unwavering support for one another.
An alumnus of Cor Jesu High School, Christian pursued higher education at Southeastern University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. His professional journey began at Met Life Insurance, where he dedicated many years before transitioning into the insurance adjusting field. Later in life, he managed various construction projects, showcasing his versatility and commitment to excellence in all endeavors.
Christian was not only passionate about his work but also about his community. He served on the board of directors for many years at the Ormond Country Club and was an active member of the TKE fraternity. His love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies -- he enjoyed playing golf, fishing, hunting and engaging in all outdoor activities. He took immense joy in spending quality time with his family, cheering on the New Orleans Saints, and supporting the LSU Tigers.
Those who knew Christian would describe him as a fun-loving and caring individual with a profound compassion for family and friends. His warmth and humor left an indelible mark on everyone who crossed his path, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Christian’s life will be held on July 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM followed with a religious service at Leitz Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. Metairie, LA 70006. We invite all those who knew him to join us in sharing memories and saying goodbye to a remarkable man whose legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of many.
