

He was born on May 22, 1952, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Anthony Wesley and Leolynne Curet Wambsgans. David spent his childhood in River Ridge. He attended high school at Brother Martin. After graduating, he embarked on a rewarding career in the customer service industry. David started his career at Le Jouet Toys and then worked at a clothing store before moving to Texas to work at The University of Texas and start his family. He moved on to Home Depot in 1992 where he remained until he retired in 2016.
David enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving, loyal man who knew no strangers, making everyone feel as if they were family. He was kind to all he encountered. He loved playing cards, enjoying a glass of johnny walker and spending his free time helping family and friends with house projects, endeavors at which he was exceptionally skilled. He was happiest with a full, loud home and his grandson Max by his side.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his children and their families: William Wambsgans (son), his spouse Emily Chant, their child Maxwell Chant Wambsgans; Jessica Wambsgans (daughter) and her spouse Rye Randlemon; and his 7 brothers and sisters, Barabara Knight, Wesley Michael Wambsgans, Donald Wambsgans, Mary Somers, Janet Wambsgans, Karen Noonan and Annette Silvera and their spouses and children.
His crawfish boils brought family and friends together around a table to share food and memories, he will be celebrated in that same way in the Spring of 2023.
