Dessie Toups Perk

Dessie Toups Perk, passed away surrounded by her family on July 4, 20ll at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Dibert J. Perk for 70 years. Born in Thibodaux, La., she was a resident of Old Jefferson for 61 yrs.

Mother of Robert Perk Sr., Roslyn Meyer (Deni) and Sheila LeBlanc. Sister of Eula Hebert.

Grandmother of Robert Perk Jr, Donna Cabler (Randy), Rachael Marcotte (Paul), Richard Perk, David Perk (Sandy), Darren Morris (Ginger) and Derek Meyer (Tiana). Great grandmother of Corey Cabler, Brandi and Brandon Marcotte, Daniel and Callie Perk, Madison and Caleb Meyer, D.J., Molly, and Drew Morris.

Preceded in death by her parents, Desiree' and Alida (Benoit) Toups, her brother Avie Toups, sisters Annie Hebert, Elsie Catalano, Hazel Hebert, Marie Falcon, grandson Dean Perk, sons-in-law, Merle Morris and Lennie LeBlanc and daughter-in-law Jean Perk.

“Maw Maw”, as she was known to all, loved having her family around. She was a homemaker who was especially known and loved for the wonderful Cajun food she enjoyed preparing for her family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 11:30 am at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
