Dolores Sanford Murtagh

She was married to Gerald Murtagh, who preceded her in death on July 29, 1997. Dolores devoted more than 40 years of faithful service to the Jefferson Parish School System, beginning her career as a classroom aide and retiring as an accountant. She served at Rudolph Matas Elementary School, Harahan Elementary School, and Roosevelt Elementary School, where she was respected for her dedication and commitment.

Dolores enjoyed traveling, watching sports, especially the Kentucky Derby, and playing bingo.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Hord, and her son, William Resseguet.

She is survived by her children: Nick; Karen Child (Robert); Pam Noey (Henry); Milton Resseguet; Louis Resseguet (Danielle); John Russell Resseguet; and Patrick Daniel Murtagh (Erin). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jennifer, Nicole, Jonathan, Joey, Laura, John, David, Elizabeth, and Ryan; as well as her great-grandchildren, along with numerous relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana, on January 3rd from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial and interment at St. Patrick Cemetery.
