

Captain Donald Paul Scott Sr. (Scotty) passed away peacefully at his home in Houston, Texas on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 5:00 PM surrounded by his loving family. Captain Scott worked for TACA International Airlines from 1947–2005. He became Chief Pilot in charge of US operations later acted as Consultant for TACA. He served on the board of ALPA and was honored by British Aircraft Corp to be the first American to fly the SST Concorde. His most treasured experience was in 1983 when Pope John Paul II invited him to be his personal pilot on the Pontiff's Central American Tour. He, together with his wife Lois Petrowsky Scott, owned and operated SCOTT FLYING SERVICE at New Orleans Lakefront Airport (1940's-1959) training military and civilian pilots. He was born February 20, 1925 in Buffalo, New York. He is the son of the late Filippo Scaccia (Philip Scott) and Stanislawa (Stella) Wichlac Scott. Captain Scott is the beloved husband of Aurelis (Auli) Deja Scott and the late Lois Petrowsky Scott. He is the father of Rindy S. Attaya, Donald Jr., Dwight, Dory, and Dean Scott . Father-in-law of Rebecca Azeka, Martha Crawford, Janet Pertuit, and Stephen Attaya. Brother of the late Josephine S. Thompson and Pearl S. Glynn. Scotty is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Dean Jr, Jennifer, and Spencer Scott and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Services were held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. at 11:00am Tuesday, October 4, 2016 with a visitation that began at 10:00am for family and friends. Internment followed at Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum.
