Dorothy S. Daret

DOROTHY ALMA SCHLATER DARET was born on February 19, 1924 and peacefully entered everlasting life on April 28, 2014, at age 90. She will live forever in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. Married to Reno J. Daret, Jr. for 50 years before his death, she was the beloved Mother of Reno Jean Daret III and Gwendolyn Daret Martinez, Mother-in-Law of Mary Jane Daret and Jorge A. Martinez, Loving Granma of Krista Martinez Barbara, Nikolas, Benjamin , and Jacob Martinez, and of Reno Daret IV and Leah Daret, and Great Granma Dottie of Rivers and Marsh Barbara and Isabelle Martinez.

A lifetime member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, she lived her whole life serving God, her family and her community by dedicating hours of volunteer work and service through her many leadership positions in service organizations of the church, public schools, girl scouts and boy scouts. She was a member of NARF Chapter 41 and AARP Chapter 1965.

We will celebrate her life with services at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ on May 10, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall, 600 Eleonore Street, NO LA.
