Dorothy “Dottie” Mae Kottemann Lawrence, age 87, joined her family in Heaven on Monday, November 30, 2015. Mrs. Lawrence was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Destrehan, LA for 9 years. Loyal wife of the late George Lawrence, Sr. Mother of George Lawrence, Jr. (wife, Linda), Gayle Dumbleton (husband, Dale), Dianne Thiberville-Wolf (husband, George) and Kenneth Lawrence. Grandmother of Melissa, Lynne, Bryon, Steven, Sherri, David, Kimberly and Michelle. Great grandmother of Luci, Christian, Jaxon, Lynnae, Addison, Reece, Caylee and Madelyn. Daughter of the late Charles F. Kottemann, Sr. and Juanita Richter Kottemann. Sister of the late Charles Kottemann, Jr., Ruth Jensen, Robert Kottemann, Sr., Lloyd Kottemann, Norman Kottemann, Christian Kottemann, Betty Keyes, Stanley Kottemann, Sr., Walter Kottemann and Howard Kottemann. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lawrence loved traveling, was an avid bowler and was a member of the Keglerettes Bowling Club, St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, AARP 1965 and Anytime Fitness Silver Sneakers. Mrs. Lawrence was very outgoing, loved people and touched the lives of everyone she met. She will be deeply missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial gathering at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 600 Eleonore Street, New Orleans, LA on Monday morning, December 7, 2015 beginning at 10:00 AM with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM. There will be a reception following the memorial service in the church’s fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to The American Cancer Society.
