Duke Duplantis

Duke Duplantis, age 74, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 16, 2012. He was a native of Houma, LA and a resident of Metairie, LA. Beloved husband of the late Mary Lee Duplantis. Father of David Duplantis and Stephen Duplantis (wife, Damita). Grandfather of Nicholas, Noel, Andrew, Jessica and Justin Duplantis. Great grandfather of Kayla Haydin and RyAnn Marie Duplantis. Son of the late Walter F. Duplantis and Blanche Chauvin Duplantis. Brother of Sundae Duplantis Rodrigue and the late Beryle Duplantis Ducote and Carma Duplantis. Also survived by nieces and nephews and tons of friends. Duke retired from Domino’s Sugar Company. He worked at Franky and Johnny’s and Poppy’s Crazy Lobster. Duke had a passion for singing and entertained at several area clubs in and around the New Orleans area. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy. in Metairie, LA on Thursday, March 22, 2012 beginning at 9:00 AM with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel.
